At Engelsberg Ironworks, southeast of Fagersta, seminars are held on a regular basis, along with scholars-in-residence activities.
Engelsberg Ironworks is located alongside Lake Åmänningen southeast of Fagersta in Västmanland County, Sweden. The ironworks were established in 1681 and developed into one of the world’s most modern facilities at the time. Engelsberg is one of the few ironworks in Sweden that have retained their buildings and most of their technical equipment. Today the property is a well-preserved industrial heritage site and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. Seminars are held here on a regular basis, along with scholars-in-residence activities, where researchers can carry out their work in peace and quiet.
